Once again

pere-lachaise_9

All breath had left

yet the want remained

to hold her little hands again

Once again to count the stars

climb some trees and pluck some flowers

To watch her as she swings in joy

to give her dreams and wings to fly

to see her once and forget the pain

to find her in his arms again

All breath had left

yet the want remained

to hold her little hands

once again

They took him to a resting place

Four shoulders he didn’t know by face

She hoped, from where he was

he could see

All that he wanted, she’s trying to be

There’s a way, some door in time

that leads to those days, those hours

This time for her to pluck the flowers

to sit by him and count the stars

to sit by him and count the stars…
